Keyboard, screen readers and accessibility

The skip link, using the keyboard, reduced motion, and how we check pages so everyone on your team can use them.

We want everyone on your team to be able to use Chiffchaff, whether they use a mouse, a keyboard or a screen reader.

Press Tab once on our website, or on any page once you're signed in, and Skip to main content shows at the top. Press Enter to jump past the menu to the page itself, so you don't have to tab through every menu item first.

Using the keyboard

Pages are built to work with the keyboard: Tab moves forward, Shift and Tab moves back, and Enter or Space clicks. The item you're on has a visible outline. In the support chat, Ctrl and Enter (Cmd and Enter on a Mac) sends your question, and Enter on its own starts a new line.

Motion

If your phone or computer is set to reduce motion, the little bird animations and loading effects stay still.

How we check

We aim for the common accessibility standard, WCAG 2.1 level AA. Our colors are picked to be easy to read against their background, and automated tests check our pages against the standard's rules. Automated tests don't catch everything, though.

If something is hard to use with your setup, email support@getblythe.com and tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way, and we'll look at it.
